Professional Advocacy Activities To Promote State Licensed Counselors
As a candidate for a Ph.D. in Counseling and Human Development from Kent State University, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and an adjunct Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Heidelberg University, I have been active over the last seven years in advocating for state licensed counselors through research, state and national counseling association committee work on professional advocacy, CEU workshops, and contacting legislators.
I appreciate you taking the time to share up to 10 ways that you have promoted state licensed counselors with legislators, employers, organizations, the general public, students, and others as a state licensed counselor (career counselor, mental health counselor, school counselor, rehabilitation counselor, etc.), as a student in a counselor education program and/or as a counselor educator.
This is not a study. Your anonymously submitted contributions will be freely shared and easily accessed on the internet by the state licensed counselor community in the coming months.
If you would like additional information, please contact Stephanie Burns at sburns1@kent.edu.
You do not need to write in complete sentences. For each activity, however, please document your role, the audience, and your specific actions.
